​RENATO USATII SAYS THAT VLAD PLAHOTNIUC FLEW TO LONDON TO DIG COMPROMISING EVIDENCE AGAINST HIM

Businessman Renato Usatii, heading the Patria Party’s electoral ticket for the November 30 elections, believes that the First Deputy Chairman of the Democratic Party, Vlad Plahotniuc, flew to London a few days ago specially to collect compromising evidence against him. For this, Plahotniuc met in the British capital with Moldovan banker Gherman Gorbuntsov.

Usatii said he had received this information from Romanian security officers.

“Plahotniuc rushed to London to talk to Gorbuntsov in order to promise him the closing down of all criminal litigations against him in exchange for some valuable evidence against me. I don’t know the details of their conversation, but it is apparent that attempts are being continued to throw Usatii out of the election race at no matter what price”, said Renato Usatii.

He presumes that his exclusion from the election campaign may take place on the last Monday before the elections, i.e. on November 24.

“Look, by November 21 they will hardly be brave enough to touch me because I can well go onto another party’s list on the same day, i.e. before the deadline of November 22 when changes in electoral lists will be possible yet. But on November 24, my expulsion from the election marathon will already be possible. The reason why Plahotniuc and his accomplice Vlad Filat are so scared is clear: I have promised them unambiguously that they will find themselves in jail for all the evils they have committed last five years”, stated Renato Usatii.

He maintains that last several weeks, a large-scale, active pressure has been put not only on him but on many activists of the Patria Party – first and foremost on the top 20 personalities on its election list.

“I will not be surprised if Plahotniuc and Filat give a million euros to the residents of a local village for their giving evidence against me so that to launch a litigation against me – their mortal electoral enemy”, said Usatii.

He warned that should he really be withdrawn from the election race, thousands of his supporters from all over Moldova will start a popular march on Chisinau.

“I have no idea how we can stop all these attempts by this sweet couple – Plahotniuc and Filat. That’s why I ask my supporters: come to Chisinau. One day we will set up tents before the offices of Plahotniuc and Filat, on the other day – before the Central Election Commission. We must react somehow to this lawlessness run by these two persons”, said Usatii.
