CEC APPROVES CHANGES MADE IN PARTY TICKETS

24 november, 2014

The Central Election Commission approved on Friday evening some changes made by political parties in their election tickers.

For instance, the Communists have withdrawn their two candidates for parliament – Editor-in-Chief of “The Communist” newspaper Alexander Issayev (#9) and Falesti Raion Chairman Mihai Rusu (19). Other changes included: incumbent Member of Parliament Anatol Zagorodnii has been moved from #23 up to #18 and economist Vissarion Cheshuyev – from #45 down to #65.

The Patria Party has also made some changes. MP Alexander Petkov, a de-jure Communist, has been placed to the 3rd position in the ticket, and Elena Gritco, fired from the Ministry of Justice recently, and all subsequent candidates moved one position downward.

Besides, the Patria ticket has come to include one more Communist Party member – Eduard Zlatovchen standing the 16th.

CEC Secretary Andrei Volentir remarked in this connection that the inclusion of three members of a party into the ticket on another party may be regarded as an electoral machination.

“As a popular saying goes, somebody has decided to put eggs into different baskets. May be, this is also an indication of creation of a voting bloc”, said the Central Election Commission Secretary.

In response, Communist Party’s permanent representative at the CEC Alina Russu stated that her party did not delegate its candidates to other tickets, and “that was their personal decision”.
