​NEW AMERICAN AMBASSADOR ADDRESSES MOLDOVA CITIZENS

The recently appointed new United States Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Moldova, Mr. James D. Pettit, has made a video address to Moldova citizens in the social networks in Romanian and Russian.

The diplomat said he had been born and raised in a small farmers town in Iowa, and has been on diplomatic service for over 30 years.

In his words, he worked in the Soviet Union, and he values the hard way Moldova has marched since its independence. The United States wants to continue cooperation with Moldova, and the new Ambassador will be working to strengthen relations between the USA and the Republic of Moldova.

James D. Pettit said he can be contracted in the social networks to exchange ideas about joint work.

Infotag’s dossier: James D. Pettit has replaced his predecessor Ambassador William H. Moser, who had worked in Moldova since May 2011. The candidacy of James D. Pettit for Ambassador to Moldova was proposed by President of the United States Barack Obama in May 2014. The new Head of the US Embassy in Chisinau is a career diplomat, who held various high posts in the U.S. Department of State. James D. Pettit also was US Consul General in Moscow, the United States’ Charge d’Affaires Ad Interim in Ukraine, US Consul General in Austria, etc.
