VLAD FILAT FINANCED HIS ELECTION CAMPAIGN WITH MONEY STOLEN FROM SAVINGS BANK – RENATO USATII

27 july, 2015

Partidul Nostru [Our Party] leader Renato Usatii maintains that Liberal Democratic Party Chairman Vlad Filat has paid off with prominent American corporation of Greenberg Rosne with the money stolen from the Banca de Economii (BEM).

Renato Usatii organized a news conference on Monday, at which he demonstrated documents proving that the payments were effected during the parliamentary election campaign in the autumn of 2014.

Usatii explained he had arrived at that conclusion when he had started analyzing the reason why his pages in the Facebook were blockaded shortly before the elections last autumn.

“During my Internet searches, I came across a contract concluded with that prominent American corporation that never works without a prior permission by the U.S. Department of State. Then I found other very interesting documents, including the personal correspondence between a Greenberg leader and Vlad Filat. The corporation is renowned for its hard work for ex-president of Georgia Mihail Saakashvili and for its current efforts for the good of Ukraine’s Prime Minister Arsenii Yatseniuk”, said Renato Usatii.

He also found out that the blocking of pages in international social networks is not done in Moscow or Chisinau.

“The American partners did that by Filat’s order. The entire scheme was paid for with money from Banca de Economii – about 260 million lei, of which approximately US$3 million was paid to the Americans”, said Renato Usatii.

According to him, there were parallel contracts on payments of services between the Liberal Democratic Party and Greenberg and between Greenberg and the offshore company of Rodos.

“As a supplement to the contracts, there is a schedule of payments. For example, Greenberg shall be receiving US$13,000 to US$20,000 during 1.5 years. And for Rodos, payment sums vary between US$250,000 and US$380,000”, said Renato Usatii.

In his opinion, under the smokescreen of payments for the LDPM election campaign, the money was thus washed out from the republic. The money withdrawal schemes involved about ten mediator companies, such as e.g. Caravita, Global Business, Business Estei and other.

“The main owner of Rodos is a person with dual citizenship of Romania and Moldova – Alin Ciocoi. He is the fiance of the daughter of Ion Rusu, who is the husband of Filat’s sister. By the way, Ciocoi has already phoned me from Bucharest saying that he is ready to come here and give evidence that he was only a front man. Among the founders of other companies you can notice the names of Alina and Alla Rusu”, said Usatii.

The businessman-turned-politician wonders why the Patria Party, whose election ticket he was heading at the 2014 parliamentary elections, was de-registered from the election campaign on suspicion of receiving 8 million lei from abroad, whereas the many-million thefts organized by the LDPM leader would not be noticed by the Moldovan law enforcement.

“There are a lot of documents on these schemes run on the money of Moldovan taxpayers over 18 months. The U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Embassy in Chisinau just could not be unaware of all this. I am waiting for an answer from Vlad Filat and from his American partners. I am ready to provide the copies of all documents I have – a whole TV-set box”, said Renato Usatii.

He demanded from the Prosecutor General’s Office to start a criminal case on this money withdrawal scheme.

“I also request to ensure a good guarding for Filat – best of all in prison. I have learnt that Filat is preparing an escape to the Odessa oblast [region of Ukraine currently headed by Governor Mihail Saakashvili]… With the help of many friends, including Romanian ones, we have established for sure that all the money withdrawn from the country by using this fraudulent scheme was siphoned off from the Moldovan savings bank”, stated Renato Usatii.
