DA PLATFORM CALLS TO COME OUT FOR ACTION OF PROTEST WITHOUT PARTY FLAGS

01 september, 2015

The Civil Platform “Demnitate si Adevar” [DA, “Dignity and Justice”] has called on political leaders, who are ready to support the September 6 action of protest against the current Moldovan authorities, not to come out into the Chisinau's central square under party flags.

Vasile Nastase of the DA leadership said to your Infotag correspondent that the protesters will come out only under the flags of the Republic of Moldova and the European Union.

“Participation in the September 6 rally has already been confirmed by Grigore Petrenco (“Our Home is Moldova” party), Vitalia Pavlicenco (National Liberal Party), Marin Livadaru (Progressive Society Party), and Sergiu Mocanu (Popular Anti-Mafia Movement). We don't mind their participation in the event because they are also members of the Moldovan civil society. But party flags and the flags of foreign countries would be undesirable in this civil action”, said Nastase.

In his words, the rally will surprise the authorities by its scale because tens of thousand citizens from all over the country will gather in the Great National Assembly Square.

“Our activists are visiting numerous populated areas and are calling people to take part in the protesting. On September 6, there will be more than 50 thousand protesters in the square. We stand up for the pro-European course of development for Moldova, but without oligarchs in the power”, he said.

As already reported by Infotag, DA began its protesting yet last spring. Its main demands are: to dismiss high-ranked officials from the National Bank, Prosecutor General’s Office and other state institutions, and to bring them to stand criminal responsibility.
