VLADIMIR VORONIN SAYS HE WILL NEVER SHAKE HANDS WITH EITHER OF THE PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES

09 november, 2016

Ex-President of Moldova, Chairman of the Communist Party MP Vladimir Voronin stated on the Realitatea TV on Monday night that he will never offer his hand to the new Moldovan President, no matter who this may be – Igor Dodon [Party of Socialists leader] or Maia Sandu [Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) Chairperson].

“None of them deserves shaking hands with. So I will not, because both of them were aware they were embarking on a presidential campaign to be held in violation of the Constitution”, stated Voronin.

During practically the entire live program, he was criticizing the candidate of the Right forces – Maia Sandu, permitting himself even overt insults against the woman. For instance, he named her “the laughing stock, the sin and the national disgrace of Moldova’s”.

The ex-president said: “I have never seen her alive, and never communicated with her – in person or by phone. I saw her on the television – in strange pictures that only upset me. I was disappointed with her appearance and manner of speaking, and with lack of constructivism in her thoughts. I could not see a single rational grain in her speech or thoughts, so I don't know where this person is going to or what she wants”.

In Voronin’s opinion, Maia Sandu’s coming to Moldovan politics was organized by external interested forces, she is an agent of the United States, and her life experience seems to contain no deep knowledge whatsoever.

“She is featureless, and is devoid of a professional biography formed here, on her native land. Besides this, she is not married, though everybody knows the rules of the presidential protocol: appearance in public must be together with spouse. People who will vote for Sandu will make a great mistake. Moreover, let me say honestly – this is a betrayal of family values”, stated the Moldovan Communist Party Chairman.

Voronin called citizens once again to boycott the second round of voting on November 13 but, at the same time, hinted he feels certain slight sympathies for candidate Igor Dodon, whom he used to name invariably as “a traitor” last few years.

“Nobody is concealing that he is indeed a son of a bitch, but he is our son of a bitch. No matter what Igor Dodon has developed into, he stems from our team. Personally I know him as a disciplined and well-organized man”, stated Vladimir Voronin.
