NATO BUREAU OPENING IN CHISINAU IS NEW ENCROACHMENT ON MOLDOVA’S NEUTRALITY – RENATO USATII

01 december, 2016

The soon-to-be opening of a NATO Bureau in Chisinau is but a new encroachment on the constitutional neutrality of the Republic of Moldova, believes Renato Usatii, Partidul Nostru [Our Party] leader and the Mayor of Balti city.

Usatii wrote in the social networks today that NATO is an organization opposing to the state [Russia], with which Moldova has been linked by history and the present day, and in this confrontation Chisinau is forced to take NATO’s side.

The politician underlined that this is far from the first infringement of Moldova’s neutrality.

“Moldovan troops take part in special operations of international coalitions. And joint exercises of the Moldovan and NATO military are systematically held in the Moldovan territory”, wrote Usatii, who does not believe in the assurances by Moldovan officials that nobody is allegedly dragging Moldova into NATO.

Renato Usatii is convinced that the country’s approximation with NATO is holding away the perspective of Transnistrian conflict settlement, and in case Chisinau abolishes the nation’s constitutional neutrality, Moldova will lose all chances for country reintegration.

“I am convinced that reintegration is an important-most condition for preserving Moldova’s independence. The incumbent authorities understand this very well, but seem to be making quite different conclusions”, believes Our Party leader.
