PRESIDENT APPOINTS FOUR JUDGES TO APPEALS CHAMBER

22 february, 2017

President Igor Dodon signed a decree on appointing four judges to the Chisinau Appeals Chamber. These are Vladislav Clima, Aliona Danilov, Alexandru Gafton and Ludmila Ursu.

At the meeting, attended by the above-mentioned judges, stakeholders discussed the situation in the justice system, as well as the existing shortcomings.

Head of the state pointed judges’ attention to responsibility they have before citizens. Dodon called them to base their activities exclusively on law, using it in accordance with the principle of equality, regardless of political persuasions and preferences of persons that are standing before them, as well as to prevent any political or other type of pressure from their side.

Earlier, the President declined 10 of the proposed 22 candidatures for different posts in courts, created in 2017 in accordance with the new legislation provisions.
