SOCIALIST FACTION PROPOSES FOR CONSIDERATION A DRAFT ON VOTE OF NO CONFIDENCE TO HEALTH MINISTRY

24 february, 2017

The Party of Socialists has put forward to the Parliament a draft resolution on vote of no confidence to Health Minister Ruxanda Glavan.

At the Friday’s first plenary Parliament meeting within the spring-summer session, PSRM deputy Vladimir Odnostalco presented this initiative, explaining it with the fact that the current situation in healthcare in catastrophic and it keeps worsening.

“Now we can say that the problem of tariffs in healthcare is the most important in the country after the stealing of billion from the banking system. Tariffs are growing, the state of people’s health is worsening. Citizens’ access to medical assistance is narrowing. We daily receive signals that the number of beds in hospitals is falling and the liquidation of a number of hospitals is planned”, the MP said.

He also stressed that the mandatory medical policy has a very low functionality.

“The policy does not cover a great number of services. People are forced to pay for services by themselves, despite the fact that they have already paid for the insurance policy. We maintain that Health Minister Ruxanda Glavan is unable to cope with her duties and should resign”, Odnostalco said.

The initiative was signed by Socialist MPs. Chairman of the Parliament Andrian Candu said that it will be considered in accordance with the legislation within 14 working days. The date of consideration will be established by the Parliament Permanent Bureau.

For initiating the procedure of a minister dismissal, 15 MP signatures are necessary. The Socialist party has 24 mandates. In June-July 2016, PSRM tried to dismiss several ministers. Draft resolutions on expressing vote of no confidence to ministers were considered, but were declined by the Parliamentary majority. Also then, Socialists failed to introduce the draft resolution on Government resignation. For this, 26 MP signatures are necessary.
