PRESIDENT DODON OPTIMISTIC ABOUT TIES WITH RUSSIAN REGIONS

16 march, 2017

Moldovan President Igor Dodon is convinced that Moldova’s ties with regions of the Russian Federation will be further developing and strengthening. Dodon wrote this on his Facebook page on Thursday, following his meeting with a delegation from the southern Russian oblast [region] of Astrakhan led by Oblast Government Chairman Konstantin Markelov.

“We discussed a broad circle of questions of the political and trade relations between our countries and of inter-region cooperation such as e.g. the need to build up Moldovan exports to the Astrakhan oblast and to attract Astrakhan investments into the Moldovan economy”, wrote Dodon.

He pointed out the guests’ full understanding and readiness to cooperation.

On March 17, President Igor Dodon will fly to Moscow at the head of a big delegation that will include Moldovan people of business, members of the presidential Economic Council, Members of Parliament and Party of Socialists representatives. The delegation will take part in an international business forum organized by the Delovaya Rossiya [Businesslike Russia] Organization.

While in Moscow, Igor Dodon will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
