09 august, 2017

The “Demnitate si Adevar” [DA, “Dignity and Justice”] Party maintains that Democratic Party of Moldova (DP) leader Vlad Plahotniuc provides to European partners false information about the situation in Moldova after the adoption of the Law on mixed voting system.

At the Wednesday’s press conference, DA leader Andrei Nastase said that Plahotniuc is annually paying to two companies US$1 million each so that they to issue necessary results of opinion polls and social surveys.

“Plahotniuc and DP representatives are providing false data to European partners, convincing them that their recommendations were observed at the law adoption. They are doing this in order to keep getting financing from the EU. European leaders understand what is happening in Moldova, thus they should react on this situation”, Nastase said.

DA members signed a declaration for European institutions with a demand to sanction those who are destroying democracy in Moldova.

“Moldova is following the example of Ukraine, where Yanukovich Government also ignored recommendation of the Venice Commissions, Moldovan authorities risk get a second Maidan in Moldova without thinking about people’s lives”, the DA leader stated.

According to Deputy Chairman of the party Stanislav Pavlovschi, the Government represents danger for Moldovan population.

“This criminal, corrupt and usurped Government is risking lives of our sons, worsening diplomatic relations with partners. The DP is hiding behind the stability and the need to improve the election system, adopting a law on new voting system, but the stability should be in legislation, before which everyone should be equal”, Pavlovschi said.

The DA again called on citizens to come to protest on September 17 to protect the democracy in Moldova and take care of children’s future in their native country.
