PRESIDENT DODON TO VISIT BULBOACA GROUND TO CHECK INFORMATION ABOUT ITS MODERNIZING BY US

11 august, 2017

President Igor Dodon will visit the National Army’s training ground in Bulboaca village on Monday to check the information about its modernizing with the participation of the US military. Dodon, who is spending his vacation in Greece, wrote this on his Facebook page.

“Lately, much is being said about the military ground in Bulboaca, about the participation of the US in works on the ground and the American financing. As Supreme Commander of the Republic of Moldova Armed Forces, I will make a working visit to the training ground on Monday in order to find out about the state of things on the spot. Do not forget that we are a neutral country and I will not allow that Moldovan military to become part or small detail in any military block, either in the West of in the East”, Dodon said.

On Thursday, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the USA to Moldova James D. Pettit visited the Bulboaca training ground, confirming that the US will continue financing the works on modernizing the training center within the allocated grant worth US$1.6 million.

At the beginning of this week, the media informed that the US Navy will build in Bulboaca eight objects and a trade center. Moldovan Ministry of Defense refuted these statements, saying that it is about a grant, which is being mastered for already five years, but not about a new program of building objects in Bulboaca.
