PIRKKA TAPIOLA CONCLUDES HIS MANDATE IN CHISINAU

Ambassador Pirkka Tapiola, Head of the European Union Delegation to Moldova is completing his mandate in Chisinau. In this connection, he conducted a meeting with leader of the Democratic Party, executive coordinator of the ruling coalition Vlad Plahotniuc on Friday.

“I thanked Mr. ambassador for help, provided to the Republic of Moldova at the European path, as well as for support to the European Integration of our country. His mission in Moldova was also marked by the signing of the EU-Moldova Association Agreement, which is our first step towards European integration”, Plahotniuc wrote on his Facebook page.

He expressed confidence that Pirkka Tapiola will remain Moldova’s friend and will cherish pleasant memories about the time, spent in Chisinau.

As Infotag has already reported, Pirkka Tapiola has headed the European Union Delegation to Moldova since September 2013. In September, he will head the EU Mission in Thailand. The EU Mission to Moldova will get a new head – Slovak diplomat Peter Mikhalko, who is currently Ambassador of Slovakia to Greece. Mikhalko worked in EUBAM Mission in Moldova and Ukraine, while in 2009-2010 – in the EU delegation to Chisinau.
