14 august, 2017

President Igor Dodon did not find any violations in the building of new military objects at the National Army military range in Bulboaca villahe.

At the Monday’s briefing he said that he visited the military range to get acquainted with the situation on the spot.

“Lately, there were many speculations that the destabilization of the situation is possible due to come actions, taken at the range of the National Army. I checked the situation on the spot. I checked all objects, I can say that no violations were found out, the planned work is being conducted. I saw no actions, no foreign soldiers, everything is going in accordance with the plan”, Dodon said.

He stressed that Moldova will keep neutrality and will not participate in NATO or other military blocs either in the West or in the East.

He stressed that Moldovan military will participate in international peacekeeping operations, but not in military exercises. Answering to the question about quitting of USA financing to some branches of the Moldovan National Army, he stated that he got such information and this concerns participation in multilateral military exercises.

“We have to differentiate the participation in peacekeeping operations and in multilateral or bilateral military exercise. This year, Moldova is participating in two peacekeeping operations, but in no exercise. I blocked this until a new defense minister is appointed”, Dodon said.

As Infotag has already reported, at the beginning of this past week, some media outlets wrote that the US Navy is planning to build eight objects, including social objects and a trade center, in Bulboaca. The Ministry of Defense refuted this message, saying that it is about a grant which is being mastered for already 5 years, but not about a new program of building objects in Bulboaca. Repair works are conducted within the Global Peacekeeping Operation Initiative Moldova joined in 2012.
