DA SUPPORTS LOCAL AUTHORITIES CONGRESS IN CONNECTION WITH CENTRAL AUTHORITIES ATTACKS

16 august, 2017

The “Demnitate si Adevar” [DA, “Dignity and Justice”] Party is concerned about repeated attacks from the side of kleptocratic regime on the Congress of Local Authorities (CALM) from Moldova, which is one of the few apolitical organizations with real public influence, DA Chairman Andrei Nastase wrote in social networks.

The politician maintains that for Democratic Party Leader Vlad Plahotniuc it was not enough to force most of local mayors to enter his party by means of blackmailing, because he needs complete control over thoughts and souls of over 900 mayors, who are most trusted among all the state representatives.

“Most mayors are members of the Congress, where a group of experts was formed, being made of freethinking people. They are together taking decisions, which often contradict with anti-popular plans of central authorities”, Nastase said.

He reminded that Orhei Mayor Ilan Shor and his councilors left the CALM, saying that the congress is turning into a political party, while membership fees paid by local authorities are misused. According to Nastase, by this act, Shor once again proved his adherence to Plahotniuc.

“It is obvious that this convict feels an animal fear before the prison, thus he is ready to sign any denunciation against himself, undertake any crimes – from Plahotniuc’s thefts to murder of John Kennedy”, he wrote.

The DA leader did not exclude that other vulnerable mayors will leave the CALM following the example of Shor.

Nastase called on mayors to remain faithful to people, to electors, but not the temporary country occupant.
