PRESIDENT DODON DECORATES PIRKKA TAPIOLA WITH ORDER OF HONOR

President Igor Dodon awarded Ambassador Pirkka Tapiola, Head of the European Union Delegation to Moldova with the Order of Honor on Wednesday in sign of special gratitude for sustainable support to Moldova in the process of reform implementation, as well as for cooperation in implementing a whole range of projects in different fields.

The head of the state wrote about this after the meeting with the EU representative on the occasion of conclusion of the latter’s diplomatic mission in the republic.

The president said that Tapiola is one of diplomats, who tried and managed to exclude the geopolitical context from Moldova-EU relations.

“It is he who stated in Brussels in 2015 that Moldova has to focus on reforms, but not on slogans”, he wrote.

Dodon wished Tapiola success in his new post of Head of the EU Delegation to Thailand, expressing hope that after appointment of a new ambassador to Moldova, the positive dynamics of sides’ cooperation will preserve.
