PLAHOTNIUC WANTS TO UNLEASH WAR IN MOLDOVA, DA ACTIVISTS MAINTAIN

15 september, 2017

The Chairman of the Democratic Party and the 'executive coordinator' of the Moldovan ruling coalition, Vlad Plahotniuc, wants to unleash a war in Moldova, maintain the leadership of the political party called Platform Demnitate si Adevar [DA, “Dignity and Justice”].

DA Platform Chairman Andrei Nastase stated at a news conference on Friday that Plahotniuc wants to disseminate fears in citizens in the run-up to the massive action of protest scheduled for September 17, so he is already undertaking unprecedented measures against DA Platform and its supporters such as direct intimidation of activists, searches in their homes and in DA offices, tapping of telephones.

“Businessman Andrei Magalu, a DA sympathizer, was accused of smuggling a few days ago, our activist Arina Spataru – of illegitimate house construction. And to the Coscodeni village (Singerei Raion), Plahotniuc recently sent a team of well-built provokers to organize disturbances and upset our meeting with local residents”, said Andrei Nastase.

DA Deputy Chairman Alexandru Slusari believes that “Plahotniuc will never stop. His pressure on political opponents and on the grassroots will be only increasing as the 2018 parliamentary election approaches and as the Democratic Party’s popularity rating keeps falling”.

And the latest news: on Thursday evening, the wife of Andrei Magalu’s brother, Nina, was attacked in their private house in the Rascova village (Orhei Raion) by unknown invaders, DA Secretary General Chiril Motpan wrote in the social networks. The woman was tied up, bruised mercilessly and frightened to death, and the house was damaged and put in a complete mess. Chiril Motpan is convinced that the guys who broke into the house were “nobody but Plahotniuc’s servants, who have thus gone farther than libel and intimidation of DA members – to open criminal acts”.

The DA Platform leaders called citizens to throw away fears and come out for protesting before the Parliament Building on September 17 – “not only against the mixed electoral system but also against the final downgrading of Moldova into a country of corruption, poverty and lawlessness!”
