PRESIDENT DODON HIGHLY APPRECIATES TURKMENISTAN’S NEUTRALITY AND ITS RECOGNITION BY UNITED NATIONS

18 september, 2017

Moldovan President Igor Dodon has highly appreciated the neutrality of Turkmenistan officially recognized by the United Nations Organization, he wrote on his Facebook page, describing his visit to that former Soviet Central Asiatic republic.

“I have high appreciated Turkmenistan’s external political strategy based on the principles of permanent neutrality recognized by the United Nations General Assembly on December 12, 1995. Turkmenistan’s experience in promoting and strengthening of the permanent neutrality principle presents a particular interest for Moldova in current conditions”, wrote Igor Dodon.

He thanked Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for the prompt and efficient realization of the Turkmenistan’s commitment to build a kindergarten in the village of Cismichioi in Gagauzia.

“As a sign of high recognition of special merits in the development and deepening of the constructive and all-embracing inter-state cooperation between Turkmenistan and Moldova in various fields”, Igor Dodon decorated Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov with the Republic of Moldova’s supreme state award – the Ordinul Republicii [Order of the Republic].

Igor Dodon flew to Turkmenistan last weekend to attend the opening of the Asiatic Games in Ashgabat. The Moldovan delegation included Bashkan [Governor] of Gagauzia Irina Vlah, Chairperson of the pro-presidential Party of Socialists Zinaida Grechanaya and other high-ranked representatives of the Party. Like during other visits paid by Dodon, the delegation did not include any representatives of the Moldovan Government or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration.
