MAIA SANDU INVITES VLAD PLAHOTNIUC TO DEBATE EDUCATION PROBLEMS

Chairwoman of the Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) Maia Sandu invited leader of the Democratic Party of Moldova (DP) Vlad Plahotniuc to public debates on the problems in education sphere.

She wrote an invitation on her Facebook page after Plahotniuc’s critical statements about transformations in the field of education started when Sandu was Minister of Education.

“If Mr. Plahotniuc has become such a serious expert in education, I invite him to public debates on problems and concrete solutions, which may be applied in the sphere of education. Moreover that the DP headed the Ministry of Economy in 2009, while the condition of the education system much depends on the country’s economy. Or he is as always afraid to hold a discussion before citizens? I stress the fact that he is a person who is publicly coordinating all the activities in the country. Mr. Plahotniuc may come with a prompter if he cannot communicate in other way”, the PAS leader wrote sarcastically.

As Infotag has already reported, on Tuesday, Plahotniuc criticized reforms in the Ministry of Education and announced that the Democratic Party will introduce moratorium on closing of schools. According to him, the education reform was conducted with mistakes and led to dramatic consequences for thousands of localities: both children, parents and teachers, who lost their jobs, suffered from this. He pointed at the bureaucratization of teaching activities, which damages the quality of teachers’ preparation for lessons.
