MOLDOVAN BORDER POLICE HALT TWO MORE RUSSIAN JOURNALISTS IN CHISINAU AIRPORT

29 november, 2017

The Moldovan Border Police have denied entry to two more journalists from Moscow. On Tuesday, the border officers on duty in the Chisinau International Airport halted Program Producer from the Russia-1 Channel Marina Safronova and Observer of the Zvezda TV Channel Alexei Samoletov.

"Me and Alexei were the only two passengers from the whole airliner who were not permitted to Moldova - even to the Arrivals lounge", Safonova stated upon return home to Moscow. A bit later, that information was confirmed by Zvezda.

Samoletov said: "Seven years ago, I and Marina were shooting a documentary about cosmonautics. So now we decided to go to Chisinau to show the film to our common friends living in Moldova. But the Moldovan border authorities did not permit us to enter the country, and did not explain anything".

"They drew up an awful number of various protocols and other papers on us. I have no idea what for", said the Alexei Samoletov working on the Zvezda [Star] television belonging to the Russian Ministry of Defense. Traditionally, the Moldovan border officers claimed that the visitors "did not indicate the purpose of their coming".
