SOCIALISTS SUBMIT BILL ON DISMISSING HEALTH MINISTER TO PARLIAMENT

16 march, 2018

The Party of Socialists (PSRM) has filed in the Parliament a draft law on dismissing Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Svetlana Cebotari. A draft resolution in this regard was presented by Socialist MP Vasile Bolea within the Friday’s plenary sitting of the legislature.

He justified this by the fact that a catastrophic situation occurred in the healthcare and it keeps worsening.

“The ministry is taking decisions on closing raion hospitals. Under the pretext of optimization, hospital sections are being closed, citizens’ access to medical services is being restricted. The healthcare system created conditions that lead to outflow of specialists. Soon, we will remain without qualified health manpower”, Bolea said.

He also pointed that the authorities did not fulfill the promises on raising pensions.

“Instead the promised increment, we witness just an insignificant compensation citizens are receiving. It will account for 6%. This is unacceptably little in current conditions”, the MP said.

He pointed at insufficient measures on protecting rights of children and low-income segments of population.

“We demand that the minister to come to the Parliament with a report, after which the question on her dismissal will be raised in accordance with the draft Resolution we are filing”, Bolea said.

The initiative was signed by Socialist MPs. Speaker of the Parliament Andrian Candu said that it will be considered in accordance with the legislation within 14 working days. The date of consideration will be appointed by the Parliament Permanent Bureau.

As Infotag has already reported, 15 signatures of deputies are necessary for initiating the procedure of minister dismissal. The PSRM has 24 mandates. In 2017, Socialists already tried to dismiss several ministers. Draft resolutions on vote of no confidence in ministers were considered by the Parliament, but were declined by the majority. During the current session, the Parliament has already declined the Socialists’ resolution on the vote of no confidence in Minister of Economy and Infrastructure Chiril Gaburici. Today, it is planned to consider the Socialists’ proposal on dismissing Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Iurie Leanca.
