REGISTRATION OF CANDIDATES FOR CHISINAU MAYOR IS OVER

The procedure of registering candidates for Chisinau Mayor has been accomplished on Tuesday. On the last day, the Chisinau Constituency Election Council passed a decision to register Chisinau Acting Mayor Silvia Radu as an independent candidate for the May 20 early mayoral elections in the capital city.

And on Monday, the Council registered several more candidates thus bringing the list length to 13 mayorship seekers. Of them, only Silvia Radu is an independent runner, and the rest 12 represent various political parties. Radu managed to collect over 13 thousand citizens' signatures, of which 2 thousand were recognized as non-valid for various reasons.

So, on May 20 the ballot-papers will contain the following list of names: Democratia Acasa [DA, Democracy at Home] leader Vasile Costiuc; DA Platform party leader Andrei Nastase; Alexandru Rosco of Our Home is Moldova (OHM) party; Regina Apostolova of the Ilan Shor Party; Liberal Party Deputy Chairman Valeriu Munteanu; Ion Ceban of the Party of Socialists; Victor Stratila of the Green Ecologic Party; Alexandra Can of the National Liberal Party; Andrei Munteanu of the Progressive Society Party; Maxim Braila of the Moldovan People's Party; Independent candidate Silvia Radu; Alexandru Mitu of the Russian Slavic Party; Constantin Codreanu from the National Unity Party (PUN).
