06 june, 2018

The ruling Democratic Party of Moldova is pledging itself to continuing the country's pro-Western development course so as to make the republic comfortable for citizens and attractive for investors, DPM leader Vlad Plahotniuc stated during his meeting in the USA with Congressman Ted Poe of Texas.

The party website wrote that the interlocutors discussed "the economic situation in Moldova and the country's latest achievements".

Vlad Plahotniuc, who is also the 'executive coordinator' of the ruling coalition in Moldova, said afterwards: "We talked of the reforms we are implementing and of what else we are going to put into life. Of course, we discussed the Transnistrian problem, and spoke about the need to combat the Russian propaganda and to consolidate our energy security".

The DPM website wrote that American congressman had appreciated the progress achieved by Moldova lately and emphasized the importance of preserving the country's Western course. Ted Poe also confirmed his support for the further development of relations between the United States and the Republic of Moldova.

The Vlad Plahotniuc's meeting with Congressman Ted Poe was attended by DPM Deputy Chairmen - incumbent Speaker of the Moldovan Parliament Andrian Candu and ex-Minister of Justice Vladimir Cebotari.
