PSRM PROPOSES TO HALVE DUES AND EXCISE TAXES ON FUEL

13 june, 2018

The Party of Socialists condemned "National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) antisocial decision on raising prices on gasoline and diesel fuel".

According to the party website, Socialists said that this can lead to growth of prices on essential commodities, food products, as well as will seriously affect the transport and agriculture spheres.

They proposed an initiative of halving the dues and excise taxes on gasoline and diesel fuel, which will allow providing considerable support to the population and domestic producers. The PSRM explains this by the fact that 40% of the final fuel price for the consumer is made of dues and excise taxes, while the Government reports about record growth of tax revenues to the budget.

According to specialists, their initiative is not just a forced social measure, but is also aimed at giving an impulse to reanimation of the national economy - starting from the transporting system (passenger and cargo transportation) to agriculture and industry, making the goods produced in Moldova more competitive on the market.

The PSRM hopes this initiative will be supported by other Parliament factions, declaring the social direction of their activities. It promises to continue promoting social initiatives, which allow lowering the damage for the population from dangerous antisocial actions of authorities.
