DA PLATFORM LEADER THREATENS WITH MASSIVE PROTESTING IF COURT DOES NOT RECOGNIZE ELECTION RESULT

19 june, 2018

"The DA Platform will answer to the incumbent criminal regime with a massive peaceful action of protest if the Court does not recognize the result of the June 3 Chisinau mayoral election", Mayor elect and DA leader Andrei Nastase stated at a news conference on Monday.

"For the criminal regime of Plahotniuc-Dodon, the election outcome in Chisinau was a complete surprise, a failure of all their plans, so they are now doing all in their powers at least to delay the coming of the popularly elected mayor to the office", said Nastase.

"For this, they are using all their levers, including manipulations with judges, like it happen in the court today, when a representative of the Chisinau Constituency Election Council demanded a recall of the official judge, and the court session was conducted by Judge Elena Costiuc well-bribed by Vlad Plahotniuc, a judge whose place is in prison", stated the opposition politician. Nastase stated that the authorities have no right to ignore the people's will, which exactly the Plahotniuc authorities are doing: without a court decision, the mayor elect cannot receive his mandate and thus cannot start working. Meanwhile, two weeks have already passed since the elections, "during which so much could have been done for the city".

"So, I am calling on citizens to consolidation. If the election result is recognized as void, we should answer with a street protesting - peaceful, well-organized and democratic to a maximum-possible extent", said Andrei Nastase.
