BALTI MC SITTING AGAIN DISRUPTED DUE TO LACK OF QUORUM

Municipal councilors from the faction “For Balti Development” have for the third time ignored the Balti Council sitting, undermining the consideration of over 100 issues of the agenda. As Infotag has already reported, the Balti Council can not start working for already the third consecutive week.

At the beginning of the Tuesday’s sitting, Balti MC Secretary Irina Serdiuc read out a declaration from the officials who ignored the sitting (most of them are representatives of the faction “For Balti Development”), who are indignant at her attitude to them. As an answer, Serdiuc said that all her decisions may be challenged in court.

According to Balti Mayor Nicolai Grigorishin, the declaration was hastily compiled several minutes before the sitting beginning.

A day before the Council sitting, representatives of the faction “For Balti Development” demanded to meet with the city leadership, where they said they are not boycotting the CM sittings, while their absence at the previous two sittings was well-grounded.

Before, Grigorishin stated that in case the third MC sitting is undermined, he will raise the issue on depriving the absentees of mandates.

Some of MC agenda issues are: allocation of funds for treating cancer patients, providing material assistance to socially vulnerable categories of citizens, providing of social housing.

In the Balti Municipal Council, 13 councilors remain in the faction of Our Party (OP, Partidul Nostru), three – in the pro-European faction and 14 councilors declared themselves independent.
