HUNDREDS OF ORHEI PENSIONERS CAME TO DEFEND THEIR PRIMARIA FROM SUPPORTERS OF MAYA SANDU AND ANDREI NASTASE

Several hundred pensioners gathered on Monday before the Orhei Primaria [city government] “to defend it from the supporters of Maya Sandu [Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) leader] and Andrei Nastase [DA Platform leader]”. The elderly were met before the City Hall by the head of the Orhei administration Regina Apostolova and Deputy Chairperson of the Ilan Shor Party Marina Tauber.

The supporters of Ilan Shor, Moldova’s prominent businessman and the Mayor of Orhei town, unfolded numerous posters reading “We welcome real guests, but we shall not let the gang to Orhei”, “No to war and split”, “We will never give you our world of development”, “Down with provokers Sandu and Nastase”, and the like.

Marina Tauber remarked ironically that “very dear guests” were going to come to Orhei, so local residents came out “to heartily welcome them”. She meant the Right pro-European opposition – the supporters of the DA Platform and PAS, whom the supporters of the Ilan Shor Party did not wish to let into the city.

“They talk of their pro-European orientation and of their being opposition politicians. But we don’t particularly care about all this. There are splendid European-type streets in Orhei, and a network of social shops, and we have built the OrheiLand recreation zone. The city is green and tidy, and it is developing rapidly. We don’t wish to hear fairy tales about European integration, we believe only in concrete deeds. Thanks to Mayor Ilan Shor, we are already building Europe in concrete populated areas”, stated Marina Tauber.

And Regina Apostolova stated that the Orhei administration is implementing socio-economic projects to underpin the population.

DA Platform Deputy Chairman Alexandru Slusari stated to an Infotag correspondent that DA and PAS had not planned whatever actions or visits to Orhei.

“We simply wanted to demonstrate how our telephones are tapped. Chiril Motpan [DA Platform Secretary] had a telephone talk only with the head of our territorial DA organization in Orhei. He did that specially by using an open cable telephone line, and he had no other talks. But the information became immediately known to those who tap us. This is an extra proof of the union of Plahotniuc and Shor”, stated Alexandru Slusari.
