DP IS CHANGING ITS STRATEGY AND WILL BE CONDUCTING PRO-MOLDOVAN POLICY – PLAHOTNIUC

17 september, 2018

The ruling Democratic Party is changing its strategy and will be conducting a pro-Moldovan policy, party leader Vlad Plahotniuc stated at a press briefing on Friday night.

In his words, such decision was approved in the Friday’s meeting of the DP National Council.

He criticized Moldovan politicians, stressing that “all the past 27 years [since independence] all political parties in Moldova behaved like political non-governmental organizations – not solving people’s problems whatever”.

“The parties were convincing the citizenry that somebody from the outside must come and resolve all Moldova’s problems. Depending on this, all citizens were divided into pro-Russian, pro-European, pro-American or pro-Unirea – supporters of Moldova’s unification with Romania. All the parties were standing for a certain geopolitical vector, but there was not a single really pro-Moldova party. The Democratic Party must become such force. All people have same problems, irrespective of what geopolitical vector they prefer. And we shall be tackling their problems. The Democratic Party shall be conducting a pro-Moldova policy”, promised the Moldovan ruling coalition coordinator.

At the same time, Plahotniuc stressed that country modernization according to the Western model “is the only development path for Moldova”.
