U.S. AMBASSADOR CALLS DP'S PRO-MOLDOVA COURSE "A CORRECT APPROACH"

21 september, 2018

The United States Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Moldova, James D. Pettit, who is accomplishing his diplomatic mission here, has called the ruling Democratic Party's choice of a pro-Moldova course "a correct approach".

The DP headquarters wrote in a press release that on Wednesday the Democratic Party leader Vlad Plahotniuc, who is the 'executive coordinator' of the ruling coalition in Moldova, met with Ambassador James Pettit, "who highlighted the Moldovan leadership's successes achieved in the economy development, and appreciated the tangible economic growth taking place in Moldova".

The American diplomat believes Moldova will be able to solve more problems if the growth is continued. The United States will be further backing Moldova 'because our common goal is to improve the Moldova citizens' life quality".

Plahotniuc thanked the U.S. Ambassador for the productive cooperation and underlined that the good relations between the two countries are developing thanks to the activities of the United States Embassy. He called the USA "Moldova's reliable partner".

"The pro-Moldova course is targeted at the country development according to a Western model for the good of all citizens. The Democratic Party of Moldova works to let citizens assess this labor by the results reached in the course of reforms", said Vlad Plahotniuc.

James D. Pettit will complete his diplomatic mission in Moldova in the nearest weeks. His successor, Ambassador Derek Hogan, will arrive in Chisinau in October.
