DEPUTY PREMIER PARTICIPATES IN UNOFFICIAL FORUM OF THREE EaP COUNTRIES IN BRUSSELS

Moldovan Deputy Premier for European Integration Iurie Leanca is taking part in the first unofficial forum of ministers, who discuss the issues of implementing Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreements in three countries of the Eastern Partnership. The forum is organized within the context of priorities, stipulated in the Summit Joint Declaration on November 24, 2017.

“The goal of the forum is to contribute in achieving the EU goal on strengthening the cooperation in the field of trade between the three countries, which signed Association Agreements with the EU. Delegations from Ukraine and Georgia are led by Deputy Premier, Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Stepan Kubiv and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Georgi Kobulia”, the press release says.

At the forum, chaired by EU Trade Commissioner Cecilia Malmstrom, the issues connected with the DCFTA implementation and the possibilities of activating the cooperation with the EU have been raised.

Deputy Premier Iurie Leanca told about the main challenges in the process of DCFTA implementation, as well as on the vision Moldova has about the extension of cooperation with the European Union for achieving gradual economic integration in the EU internal market in accordance with the Association Agreement.

Also, the simplification of trade and customs procedures were discussed, as well as the improvement of the public procurement system, the providing of new possibilities for small and medium enterprises, efforts on promoting products on the European market.

The same issues were discussed within the bilateral meeting of Deputy Premier Leanca with EU Commissioner Malmstrom.
