PAS TO DEMAND DETAILED INFORMATION ON AIR MOLDOVA PRIVATIZATION

The Party of Action and Solidarity will address to the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure with the demand to present detailed information about the privatization of the state airlines Air Moldova.

PAS representative Sergiu Litvinenco said at a press conference that it is about the publication of financial reports over the last three years, as well as audit reports and the details of the privatization process - since its beginning till the end.

"If the authorities have nothing to hide, these data may be provided in the shortest possible term", he maintains.

PAS Chairwoman Maia Sandu said that the character of the privatization resembles with the Chisinau airport concession - complete lack of transparency, extraordinary haste, only one participant in the tender, presence of suspicious persons among shareholders of the buying company.

"As Prime Minister in 2015, Chiril Gaburici said that the airport concession is a fraud that should be investigated. Now, in the post of Economy Minister does he not see similarities between the Air Moldova Privatization and the airport concession? The sum of the transaction is also scandalous - 50 million lei for an enterprise of crucial importance for the national economy. This figure evokes memories about the buying of the "Codru" hotel by the current ambassador of the Democratic Party to the US Cristina Balan, who paid 50 million for it. It seems that this is a standard price the DP and its master Vlad Plahotniuc are paying for public property regardless of its importance for the republic", the oppositionist said.

Answering to the question about Lyudmyla Kozlovska [Chairwoman of the Open Dialogue Foundation, who is suspected of intervention in Moldova's internal issues], Sandu said that she has nothing in common with this organization.

"In 2017, European MP, Chairwoman of the EP Subcommittee on Security and Defense Anna Fotyga invited me to Brussels for participation in discussions on human right violation in Moldova. This event was organized by a group of European deputies jointly with the Open Dialogue Foundation, thus if there are any questions, these can be directed to European Parliament members", Sandu said.
