PREMIER ASSURES U.S. AMBASSADOR MOLDOVA SHALL NOT TURN FROM ITS WESTERN WAY

The Moldovan Government is imbued with resolution to make the country's Western way irreversible, Moldovan Prime Minister Pavel Filip stated in his meeting with the new United States Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Moldova, Derek Hogan, on Thursday.

The Premier congratulated the diplomat upon his appointment as Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova and complimented him on his good command of the Romanian language.

"We attach considerable attention to our relationship with the United States - our important partner, and we would like to further collaborate in spheres like security and defense, reform of the justice system, struggle against corruption, consolidation of a law-governed state in Moldova and other", said the Moldovan Premier,

Ambassador Derek Hogan assured that the United States is remaining a reliable partner and friend to Moldova. He welcomed the Moldovan leadership's efforts to build a democratic and prosperous state in Moldova. The interlocutors exchanged opinions about the Transnistrian conflict settlement process and the upcoming parliamentary elections.
