SOCIALISTS PROMISE HIGHER SALARIES AND PENSIONS, LOWER RETIREMENT AGE
The November 18 rally adopted a Resolution reflecting 10 priority objectives, which the Socialists undertook to put into life while in the new Parliament. These are:
1. Raising of the average monthly salary/wage size to 600 euros and average pension size to 300 euros a month, with the pension age to be lowered and with pension indexations to be made minimum twice a year;
2. Free health assistance, with putting an end to the closure of hospitals an policlinics;
3. Free State-run education system from the pre-school to the higher education, and “also with putting an end to the closure of schools and kindergartens”;
4. “We shall not permit the liquidation of raions [districts] and Primarias [town, raion and village executive organs] or transition to [Romanian-type] judets and to an administrative reform as a whole;
5. The Socialists are promising to conduct a weighted foreign policy. “We shall restore the strategic partnership with the Russian Federation at all levels and shall achieve a full-fledged membership of the Eurasian Economic Union, and a mutually beneficial cooperation with the European Union”;
6. Constitutional neutrality. “We shall not permit Moldova’s accession to NATO and shall achieve the closure of the NATO Office in Chisinau”;
7. Reunification of the country. “We shall resolve the Transnistrian question by joint effort with the Tiraspol administration and with foreign settlement guarantors”;
8. A ban on unionist parties and movements. “We shall return the “History of Moldova” subject to schools”;
9. Protection of traditional values. “We shall defend the Orthodoxy – our traditional religion, and shall put an end to the propaganda of an anti-family ideology in the country”;
10. A presidential republic, a real democracy and the rule of law. “The directly elected President will be forming the Government and the executive power vertical”.
