CITIZENS' ELECTORAL ACTIVITY WILL FORCE INCUMBENT AUTHORITIES AWAY, DA LEADER BELIEVES

07 december, 2018

Citizens' active participation in the approaching elections will force the incumbent authorities to leave the scene, believes Andrei Nastase, Chairman of the political party called Platform "Demnitate si Adevar" [DA, "Dignity and Justice"].

Speaking on the local television on Thursday night, Nastase stressed that citizens must necessarily go to the polls on February 24 - massively, as this is a key condition for dismissing the incumbent unpopular regime.

"We all must put an end to corruption, poverty and lies. Our republic needs a new government that would be focusing not on massive embezzlements and self-enrichment, but would be using all its professionalism and citizens' trust for the sake of improving the situation in Moldova. That's why not a single voter in the republic should remain at home on the election day. I believe in the people of Moldova", stated Andrei Nastase, whose DA Platform and Maya Sandu's Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) have formed a voting bloc called ACUM.

In his words, ACUM is not holding negotiations with any other organizations on a possible joint participation in the election, "but our doors are open for all citizens who support the nation's European vector, and who are good professionals".

He announced that in the nearest future the ACUM bloc will publish its lists of candidates.
