PRESIDENT DODON TRUSTED BY OVER ONE-THIRD OF MOLDOVA POPULATION - OPINION POLL

Moldova President Igor Dodon is trusted by 29.6% citizens of the republic, as per the findings of the opinion poll carried out by the Association of Sociologists and Demographers of Moldova and presented in Chisinau on Thursday.

Following next is Moldova Prime Minister Pavel Filip - with 5.7% of citizens' trust. Then go PAS leader Maya Sandu with 4.5%, Party of Socialists Chairperson Zinaida Greceanii - 4.3%, DA Platform leader Andrei Nastase - 3.9%, and ruling Democratic Party leader Vlad Plahotniuc with 3.8%.

It is noteworthy that as many as 27% interviewed citizens stated they did not trust any Moldovan politician, and 12.9% failed to answer anything concretely.

The popularity rating of other renowned Moldovan personalities did not exceed 2%. Among these are Orhei Mayor Ilan Shor, PSRM Secretary for Ideology Ion Ceban, who heads the Socialist faction in the Chisinau Municipal Council [city legislature], Communist Party Chairman, ex-President of Moldova Vladimir Voronin, Our Party leader Renato Usatii, and Parliament Chairman Andrian Candu.

Only 12.7% respondents believe that parliamentarians really care about what the population thinks of them, while 77.5% Moldovans are convinced that the authorities don't care about the people's opinions.

The opinion poll was carried out on November 28 through December 10 among 1195 adult residents of 81 various-type populated areas across the republic. The pollsters are saying the error should not be in the excess of В±3%.
