ISRAEL IS AN EXAMPLE OF INDEPENDENT EXTERNAL POLICY PRESERVING NATIONAL INTERESTS - PRESIDENT DODON

President of Moldova Igor Dodon met with Israeli President Reuven Rivlin within his official visit to Israel.

On his Facebook page, Dodon wrote that Israel is an example of a country, which is conducting an independent external policy with strict abiding by national interests.

The Moldovan head of state also wrote that within the meeting they discussed bilateral relations, Moldova's external and internal policy and regional security and spoke for strengthening the political dialog, including by means of high-level visits.

"We agreed on the need of activating cooperation between the two states, especially in the trade sphere, where the potential is not realized in full. Besides, there are good perspectives for tourism development, given that dozens of Moldovan nationals and labor migrants are living in Israel", Dodon said.

He stressed that in the context of regional security and cooperation the two leaders agreed in position of condemning the international terrorism and antisemitism.

"I explained to President Rivlin the essence of the strategy on building a balanced external policy of the Republic of Moldova on the basis of neutral status, as well as on peaceful and comprehensive settlement of the Transnistrian conflict", Dodon stressed.
