OUR PARTY TO NOMINATE 17 CANDIDATES IN CONSTITUENCIES AND IS FORMING ITS PARTY TICKET

The opposition Partidul Nostru [Our Party, OP] will nominate its 17 candidates to stand for parliament in single-member constituencies, and is drawing up its party ticket for elections in the nation-wide electoral constituency, OP Deputy Chairperson Elena Panus said at a news conference on Friday. The said 17 candidates will be running mostly in northern Moldova and in Chisinau.

Another OP Deputy Chairman, Ilian Casu, stated that Our Party is going to citizens not with foodstuffs or other presents, but with a firm promise to work hard for the protection of the citizens’ rights and interests.

In Chisinau, Our Party has nominated 3 representatives – OP Deputy Chairman, prominent journalist Dumitru Ciubasenco, medical doctor Sergiu Urecheanu and Ilian Casu.

Dumitru Ciubasenco said at the news conference that the list of candidates for single-member constituencies will be broadened after soon-to-be consultations. As for the Party Ticket, it will be finally formed in the nearest days, and will be presented at a press conference by Our Party leader Renato Usatii himself.

Ciubasenco said Our Party will not take part in the referendum, for “all these are just new machinations by the incumbent authorities, and we don’t wish to have a finger in them. We are inviting our supporters to follow our example”.
