NEW PARLIAMENT TO INCLUDE REPRESENTATIVES OF 5 PARTIES, VOTING BLOC ACUM AND ONE INDEPENDENT CANDIDATE - BAROMETER POLL

16 january, 2019

If a parliamentary election were held in Moldova next Sunday, the new legislative forum would come to consist of the representatives of the Party of Socialists (PSRM), ruling Democratic Party (DP), Ilan Shor Party, Communist Party (MCP), Our Party, the voting bloc ACUM (PAS plus DA Platform), and independent MP Gheorghe Raileanu, as per the "Pre-Election Barometer 2019" research carried out by the Date Inteligente sociological company on January 9-15 on the basis of opinion poll findings.

The researchers say that the PSRM can bring to the new 101-member Parliament as many as 48 Socialists (including 21 - on the party ticket), the ACUM bloc - 25 (14), the Democratic Party 18 (9), the Shor Party and the MCP will manage to overcome the 6% election barrier and will each receive 3 mandates on party tickets. But the Shor Party will bring to the Parliament yet two more candidates from single-member constituencies.

Judging by the Barometer data, Our Party will be able to win only in a sole single-member constituency - in Balti city. And in the single-member constituency #40 "Cimislia-Basarabeasca", victory will be won by independent candidate Gheorghe Raileanu, the Mayor of Cimislia.
