ACUM LEADERS PRESENT RESULTS OF LAB TESTS THAT CONFIRM MERCURY IN THEIR BLOOD

22 february, 2019

Co-Chairpersons of the ACUM election bloc Andrei Nastase and Maia Sandu presented the results of medical tests that confirm the presence of high level of mercury in their blood.

The results of tests were placed on the Newsmaker portal and are dated September 2017, January 2018 and December 2018.

According to the ACUM press secretary Cristina Bujor, Nastase got the first screening in Germany in 2017, which identified the elevated mercury level in the blood. The politician underwent a long treatment, but the investigation in December 2018 demonstrated that the level of mercury in his blood fell just slightly. High level of mercury was found in Maia Sandu’s blood as well. In January 2018 she got screening in the Chisinau clinic “Synevo”.

“We reported about the poisoning just now because before, Nastase and Sandu were just suspecting that authorities are involved in this. After we saw that even after the treatment the level of heavy metal in the blood did not fall, we decided that in the run-up to these decisive elections for the Moldovan future it is important to tell the people about the current authorities’ degradation and about what this regime is capable of”, Bujor said.

Leaders of the opposition reported about the possible poisoning on February 21. Sandu said that after the repeated tests doctors reported about high level of metals in the blood, which is an unnatural process. This means that external intervention is possible.

Andrei Nastase said that the current authorities want physical death of opposition leaders.

In their turn, the DP representatives were skeptical about statements of the opposition leaders. Press Secretary of the Democratic Party Vitalie Gamurari said the accusations are weird and fantastic, while DP candidate Sergiu Sirbu humored the ACUM statements, saying that he also found heavy metals in his blood.
