SOCIALISTS HAVE MANDATE FOR FORMING GOVERNING MAJORITY ONLY WITH ACUM – VLAD BATRINCEA

11 april, 2019

The Party of Socialists (PSRM), having the largest faction of 35 in the 101-member Parliament of Moldova, has a mandate for negotiations on governing coalition forming only with the ACUM bloc deputies, MP Vlad Batrincea, the PSRM Executive Secretary, stated once again on the local television on Wednesday night.

He also made it perfectly clear that the parliamentary Socialist faction has no mandate for holding negotiations with the Democratic faction, “therefore if we fail to reach an accord with the 26 ACUM deputies, we will go for an early parliamentary election”.

During the live TV program Batrincea had a telephone talk with ACUM MP Alexandru Slusari and said to him that without an election of the new Parliament’s working bodies and forum leadership, it is impossible to adopt the package of the ACUM-proposed de-oligarchization bills.

In his words, the adoption of the ACUM bills requires that they must have a governmental visa, then approved in parliamentary standing committees, and then signed by Parliament Speaker.

“Therefore, without electing the parliament leadership and without appointing a new government, the adoption of such decisions will be but a breach of the Constitution”, stated Vlad Batrincea.
