SOCIALISTS CALL ON PGO TO BE DRIVEN BY LAW, NOT BY REGIME’S INSTRUCTIONS

11 june, 2019

The Party of Socialists called on the Prosecutor General’s Office to follow the legislation, but not regime’s orders in their activity. This message is connected with starting of a criminal case against the party on the possible financing from abroad.

Deputy Speaker of the Parliament Ion Ceban said at the Tuesday’s briefing that investigation agencies must not at all fulfill the political orders of authorities, which have to resign immediately.

“We are ready to cooperate with the investigation, to present necessary information, but only on the basis of a legal case, which will be conducted by an independent prosecutor, but not a regime’s protege who executes political orders”, the Socialist said.

Commenting on the repeated DP’s call to negotiations, Ceban said that the conditions have not changed: it is necessary to unblock state institutions, first of all the Government, in order that legal power representatives to be able to start working.

“The DP must remove tents from entrances in state institutions, to take away people who stay there for money or due to threats. Moldova has a legal Government, this was recognized both inside the country and by foreign partners”, Ceban said.

Chairman of the PSRM Vlad Batrincea also addressed to authorities in raions with the proposal to renounce supporting the Democratic Party.

“We know the pressure local mayors and councilors are facing. Nevertheless, we already have case of courage demonstration, when local authorities refused to fulfill regime’s orders, such as sending people to Chisinau for protests. Now, these people are forced to leave the country. We are receiving all the information, but we have an action plan in this regard. We call everyone to calm”, the Socialist said, assuring that local elections will take place this year.
