CORRUPTION IS A DOMINATING SYSTEM IN SOCIAL RELATIONS IN MOLDOVA – MARK TKACHUK

07 august, 2019

Corruption has become a dominating system of social relations in Moldova, and you cannot find even a single place or sphere in the country without corruption, historian and anthropologist Mark Tkachuk, a former Adviser to ex-president Vladimir Voronin and ex-Member of the Parliament, stated on the local television last night.

In his belief, all political parties in Moldova produce one and the same defective political model, and nobody knows who funds them.

“And this is but a charge of potential corruption – the metastases that spread farther and deeper into the society. My children go to school with big satchels on their backs. The satchels are stuffed with textbooks – sometimes three books for a school subject: one textbook is published by our Ministry of Education, the other one is good, and the third one is from Romania. Corruption has won victories everywhere thanks to our politicians, whose determining trait is incompetence”, stated Mark Tkachuk.

In his opinion, 99% Moldovan politicians migrate from one party to another upon coming to parliament, and they have no profession.

“What can they do as professionals? Who are Vlad Plahotniuc and Andrian Candu by profession? Upon finding themselves in parliament, the people stop developing – in whatever senses. But I guess Moldova does not need constant changing of elites, and we should put an end to lies about them. We don’t need people who have made their incompetence a profession. We need to become professional citizens”, proposed the ex-parliamentarian, who announced recently the foundation of a new “Collective Action Party – Civilian Congress”.

In his understanding, the Moldovan population is not divided into those standing for a pro-European choice and those for a Eurasian choice.

“No, these are politicians who have divided our people so. But the citizens are divided actually in another way: can they provide sustenance for themselves and their parents or not? Can they give education to their children or not? Can they find good jobs here or not? And more and more often these questions are appearing in the minds of a growing number of Moldova citizens. And the number of such workable citizens is getting smaller and smaller. And these false objectives have been set for them by same politicians, and this has been continuing for over 30 years”, said Mark Tkachuk.

In his opinion, Moldova has been in a state of clinical death.

“A few more years, and the number of pensioners in this republic will exceed the number of workers. The public is busy discussing the language name problem [Moldovan or Romanian?] and unification with Romania. Meanwhile, there is a fundamental, vital problem that concerns all people – the Dniester. The river has become shallow to an extent that Chisinau may find itself without water one day soon”, presumes Mark Tkachuk, who is convinced that it is necessary to create political organizations able to resolve the basic problems of an absolute majority, which is presently manipulated by a petty minority.
