DA PLATFORM CHAIRMAN ANDREI NASTASE VOTED FOR CHANGES AND JUSTICE

DA Platform party leader Andrei Nastase, who is running for Chisinau Mayor, says he voted for "changes and justice".

Nastase stated to journalists at his polling station, where he came to together with his wife and daughter, that he had voted "for people, for Moldova citizens, for Chisinau residents. I also voted for my principles and values, and for the future. I am convinced that today we all are renouncing our past that was poisoned with lie. Today we are laying a foundation for a new future. We shall prove to all that we desire changes for the better. Look how the world is changing, look what changes are taking place in Romania and Ukraine [Moldova's only neighbors]. And we need changes, too, on the central as well as on local levels".

Andrei Nastase stressed that he voted for the future - "voted with a thought about future generations".

"I am sure that this time nobody - absolutely nobody will dare to invalidate the voting of the people and to cancel the popular will expressed at a democratic election. Our severest punishment for those who invalidated the last year's fair election will be our massive attendance of the today's election. We shall resolutely vote against those who made a mockery of the country, of the people and democracy. I guess now everything will be different. Starting from today, Moldova is marching a new way - a way of truth, solidarity, justice, democracy, dignity, along the path of a democratic state", said the candidate.

Nastase said he would be attentively following the voting process and called his supporters and all citizens to be vigilant.

"We are receiving signals that certain forces may try to rig the elections. We must be vigilant, must report all violations noticed, and state institutions and electoral bodies must do all in their powers to make the elections correct and democratic", stressed Andrei Nastase, and once again urged citizens to take an active part in the voting.
