OBSERVERS REGISTERED OVER 200 VARIOUS INCIDENTS DURING SUNDAY’S VOTING IN MOLDOVA

Over 200 various incidents were registered during the local and parliamentary elections on October 20, concluded experts of the Promo-LEX association on the basis of preliminary results of election process monitoring.

Organization Program Director Pavel Postica said at the Monday’s press conference that observers registered 17 cases of presence of election materials near polling stations, three cases of preventing observers from work, 20 cases of presence of unauthorized persons in polling stations, 35 cases of election canvassing or using of black publicity near polling stations, 65 cases of inconsistencies in election lists (wrong addresses, presence of dead persons in lists), 24 cases of violating the secrecy of voting (taking photo of ballot paper), 21 cases when there were several persons in one voting booth.

According to him, 17 cases of aggression/intimidation of voters were registered, six cases of organized transportation of voters and 6 cases of possible bribing of voters.

With all this, Postica said that in most cases incidents happened due to voters themselves, while in comparison to the February 24 parliamentary elections the number of such incidents fell almost by one-fourth.
