ION CEBAN PROPOSES ACUM TO FORM COALITION IN MUNICIPAL COUNCIL

21 octomber, 2019

Candidate for Chisinau Mayor of the Party of Socialists Ion Ceban (which reached the second round) proposed to the ACUM bloc to form coalition at the level of municipal administration.

At the Monday’s briefing, Ceban said that according to the October 20 election results, PSRM won the first place and will get 22 mandates of 51 local councilors, while the ACUM – 19 seats in the council.

“However, 26 votes are necessary to adopt decisions in the council, thus I propose the ACUM to move forward in the format of coalition. In my turn, in case of victory in the second round, I propose posts of two of 4 deputy mayors to the bloc, as well as posts of city sector governors of 5. Also, I propose to the ACUM the post of CMC chairman”, he said.

The Socialist also proposed to create new divisions in the city Primaria – for architectural planning and for bilateral cooperation with Romanian cities. Ceban proposed posts of head of these new structures to Victor Chironda (candidate from Forta Noua) and Octavian Ticu (of the National Unity Party).

“People got rid of the politics and empty words. They need concrete actions. We have nothing to do in Chisinau except a thousand and one various problems. Thus, I call on supporters of different political movements. It is necessary to start the work as soon as possible, to resolve together the crisis situation in social, economic and demographic spheres of the capital city”, the Socialist said.

Ceban said he is not going to give up after the first round and is committed to keep moving forwards in the second round of voting.

“None wants that the city to be headed by a nonprofessional. Thus, I will do my best to prove I am the most worthy candidate for mayor”, the Socialist said.
