Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the USA to Moldova Dereck J. Hogan maintains that despite the vote of no confidence in the Government of Maia Sandu, supported by the Party of Socialists and the Democratic Party, theoretically, a new coalition between the PSRM and the ACUM bloc is quite possible.

The diplomat said to journalists on Wednesday that external partners did everything to prevent the Government dismissal, but unfortunately this proved to be impossible.

He confirmed that he met with President Igor Dodon on Wednesday morning and expressed regret that the current coalition collapsed.

“It is very important for the US to continue reforms, especially in the field of justice system. I expressed my vision on cooperation in this direction. Now we have to see what the new Government will be like. It is too early to comment on this so far, we have to find out the composition of the new Cabinet of Ministers to understand what to do next. In any case, the most important for us is the continuation of reform process”, the US ambassador said.
