EURO-INTEGRATION REMAINS CHIEF PRIORITY OF GOVERNMENT’S EXTERNAL POLICY – FOREIGN MINISTER

31 march, 2020

Moldovan Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Oleg Tulea has stated that European integration remains priority number one of the incumbent Government’s external policy. Speaking on the local television on Monday night, Tulea said that the Democratic Party’s participation in power team-like with the Party of Socialists is a guarantee of the preservation of this objective.

In his words, the Democratic Party agreed to participate in power because in the current coronavirus-caused crisis it was principally important to ensure a stable and functional government.

“The DPM has always been a pro-European party. Our main goal is to direct all domestic and external efforts to implementation of the EU-Moldova Association Agreement so as to make Moldova like it was before – a predictable, honest and transparent partner to all”, said the Minister.

Oleg Tulea underlined that the country’s present foreign policy is aimed at the development of good relations with the neighbor countries – Romania and Ukraine, as well as at consolidation of dialog with strategic partners – Russia, the United States and Turkey.

“We are working to broaden the circle of friends and to establish strategic partnership with other countries as well, proceeding from Moldova’s national interests”, said Minister Oleg Tulea.
