OLIGARCHS, WHO TRIED TO REMOVE GOVERNMENT, WERE TAUGHT A GOOD LESSON, PRESIDENT DODON SAYS

21 july, 2020

Moldova President Igor Dodon believes that the oligarchs, who sought to discharge the Premier Chicu Government, were taught a good lesson. That was how the head of state commented in social networks on the Monday’s parliamentary debate of the question of no confidence in the Government. Its removal was supported by only 46 opposition parliamentarians, whereas the necessary minimum required for dismissing the Chicu team was to be 51 MPs in the 101-member Parliament.

“The Moldovan society received the possibility to see what these politicians are worth. They have demonstrated once again that they are able only to stir up scandals, chaos and instability”, wrote the President.

Igor Dodon believes that “the oligarchs were taught a good lesson that has proved that money cannot buy everybody and everything”.

He voiced hope that the leaders of the right opposition parties, Maia Sandu of the Party of Action and Solidarity and Andrei Nastase of the DA Platform party, “have understood from this humiliating experience that one should not put signatures under a document together with the Mafiosi groups – Pro Moldova and the Ilan Sor Party”.
