GENERAL PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE RECOMMENDS DISSATISFIED POLITICIANS TO CONTEST ITS DECISIONS IN COURT

31 july, 2020

The General Prosecutor's Office (GP) has repeatedly called on politicians to abandon "rhetoric that violates the principle of procedural independence of the prosecutor's office and discredits law enforcement agencies." A press release issued by the GP on Thursday in response to the accusations of the MP from Platform DA Iurie Renita of unwillingness to initiate a criminal case on the basis of video filming in the PDM office, emphasizes that "the prosecutor's office does not comment on political statements." Its decisions can be appealed in court. "This is a procedural law and the only correct and legal method, characteristic of a rule of law and the civilized world, is to contest a decision with which the authors of the statements do not agree," the GP said.
