PAS DEMANDS PRESIDENT NOT TO APPOIN CORRUPT JUDGES

03 august, 2020

About 40 representatives of the Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) and its supporters protested outside the presidential administration on Monday morning, demanding that Igor Dodon not sign decrees on the appointment of corrupt judges.

The PAS leader, Dodon's main competitor in the upcoming elections, Maia Sandu, told the audience that even if these judges, like Vladislav Clima, are appointed, “they will not save Dodon, he will not be able to hide his sins.”

According to her, when appointing judges loyal to him, Dodon acts according to Plahotniuc's principle - “he creates justice for himself and people like him.”

“We need to unite and overthrow these thieves,” Sandu stressed, urging those present to sign the petition.

PAS MP Sergei Litvinenco also believes that “Dodon's real goal is not the reform of justice, but control over it.

“If we had a truly independent general prosecutor, then Dodon would have to answer for a pack of money from Plahotniuc, he would not be in the presidential administration today, but behind bars,” he said.

According to another deputy of the party, Igor Grosu, "the puzzle that Dodon is preparing is election fraud."

“We will not allow thieves to be in the judicial system. It's a shame! Dodona and Clima to the trash! ” He called.

The action lasted half an hour. None of the presidential administration representatives came out to the protesters.
